Republican Oxymoron
Posted by: NietzschegirlI was having a discussion with a friend recently about our current administration when I made the statement that there had not been one successful policy come out of this current administration. I have to correct myself on that position, there is one. Bush's policy to make himself and all his oil producer buddies richer. That has been the one consistent policy that has succeeded where no other has.
The current administration epitomizes what the world hates about Americans; ingnorance, self serving, greedy and ruthless. That's what happens when you allow a man with a below average IQ to take control of what used to be a stable world power. This country has slipped into third world status as we have seen the decline of our standard of living, loss of jobs, loss of esteem from other countries and loss of the ability to care about anything larger than what is in our own backyard. When I stop to consider what has happened to this country in the past 8 years of the Bush Administration, I feel so demoralized about being an American, that I bow my head in shame and try to think of the best country where I could immigrate.
This next election is so important to this country and its ability to recover, that if everyone doesn't get out to vote and make a difference with their most important right, then we deserve what happens to us. Ignorance, apathy and "go with the flow" is what got Bush his second term. He shouldn't have gotten his first term, but thanks to the state where his brother was governor, he was able to steal the election from the true winner, Al Gore. Although Al Gore won the popular vote, Bush was able to seal the deal with the electoral vote put over by his theft of the electoral votes from Florida. I have to ask myself why no other "peacekeeper" nation hasn't come and taken out our despot ruler like we did in Iraq!
Well the real irony of this republican administration is they have been the best at being the absolute worst of everything!
From where I sit, that's how I see it.
Thanks for stopping by.
