I have read http://www.userfriendly.org. It is time for the rant. Most of the peoplewho will read my rant are conservatives. If you are a conservative, enjoy. If not, please learn. For my conservative friends, we need you to get involved. We need to be mobilized. We need to be energized. We must participate in our government if we are to get our government back.

Now that the democrats are in power which is obviously a referendum on the war in Iraq (if you really believe that, then I have a bridge I would like to talk to you about), various cutbacks have been mentioned in relation to our military. Most democrats like Hillary ‘Let’s Cut Military Spending’ Clinton, Harry ‘We Can’t Possibly Win’ Reid, and John ‘Purple Heart’ Kerry have been floating around ideas that will hurt our military and cut its funding. This is an interesting approach since most of these people claim that we sent our people over to wage war unprepared and without the right equipment. It seems like just yesterday that John ‘Bring Our Troops Home’ Murtha went on his tirade about body armor – wait wasn’t that just yesterday. It seems like he does it every day, but I digress. Cindy ‘I’m The Only Mother To Have Lost A Son In War’ Sheehan seems to want our military brought home and armed with water guns.
Having said all of that let me say this. Should these people get their way, it will only be a matter of time before the police are similarly armed. I mean, really, they already believe in the rights of the perpetrator more so than the rights of the victims. Color TVs, weight rooms, spas, saunas, air conditioning, and so on are all already available too much of the criminal population. If these democrats get their way and arm our military in this fashion, it will only be a matter of time before they take the guns away from the police. After all, they are already trying to take our guns. It seems obvious to me that the people that are now empowered to run this country do not truly understand what it means to live in the land of the free and home of the brave. They certainly have proven that either they have never read the constitution or do not believe in it. Take one small sample of Constitution of the United States of America, The Preamble:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
What is “a more perfect Union”?
In the eyes of the founding fathers, this meant that they hoped to create a document that would unite the people of AMERICA better than the Articles of Confederation did. Now, for all those liberals reading this, the Articles of Confederation had nothing to do with the South, the Confederacy, the War of Yankee Aggression, Slavery, or any thing all in the 1860s and the events leading up to it. The Articles of Confederation was the first document to govern the United States. It was agreed to by the Continental Congress on November 15, 1777, ratified and put in force on March 1, 1781. Those articles were weak. They could not whole the country together. It was necessary to try and form a “more perfect Union”. It was not until 1787 that good men – yes, I said it, the founding fathers were good men – met in secrecy and against the law to try and establish the Constitution of the United States of America, a stronger document that would lead to a much stronger nation that would indeed secure the “Blessings of Liberty” for themselves and to us today. Please note that the writers did not say a “perfect Union”. They knew and understood that there was no possible way that human beings could establish a union that did not have problems. Only heaven can give such a mandate and it takes humans to mess that up. What the founding fathers did was this, they gave us a framework in which a nation could work and succeed and handle its problems. It has worked. The constitution is still working. It is a grand old document.

Today, there are many on the left think that the constitution is outdated and outmoded. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The founding fathers were absolutely right on target with the things that guarantee our liberties. Liberty without self-restraint is a not liberty at all, but chaos. Many today do not want anything that might jeopardize their freedom, but what they call freedom is not freedom at all. Liberty can only exist were there is self-restraint. Where self-determination, there must of necessity by self-restraint.

In order for that “more perfect Union” to continue today, there must be self-discipline. There must be a set of unwavering rules that people must follow. Otherwise, there is nothing but anarchy.
What does it mean to “establish Justice”?
Justice means that under the law, all people are viewed the same. It means that all are treated the same, with no partiality. The founding fathers set out with this in mind for our great nation. Sure, we have had failures in living up to it. No one denies this. However, this does not mean justice should not reign in this country. Too many today are treated unjustly. They are not treated the same as everyone else. This is true because there are some who are treated as a special class of people. Now, sit down my liberal friends, do not think for a minute that I have just joined you in your cause. I am not talking about the rich. I am not talking about any particular race of people. I will leave that up to all of the leftists of our country, those who believe that the wealthy should be punished and that certain races of people have it so bad. No. The group that I am writing about is any and all of those that who receive special treatment by the government. An entitlement is an example of special treatment. Reparations are examples of special treatment. The success of our nation has been and will always be in the ability for individuals to succeed and, yes, fail. Entitlements are unjust because they take from those who succeed and give to those who do not. They make a special class of people. Where is the justice in this?
Judges who legislate from the bench in order to promote their own ideas without respect to the law are the greatest perpetrators of injustice in America. In view of the law, a judge is supposed to make a determination about a case with respect to the law. He or she does not have the right to create law. The Constitution establishes justice. The Constitution establishes the right of Congress and Congress alone to make law. Now, if people want to have a socialist country, fine. Elect people to congress to change the laws to that effect. Do not put judges in place to make law. That is treason.
What is “domestic Tranquility” and how is it “insured”? What is the common Defense?Domestic Tranquility is having peace and safety at home, in our country. This means several things. First, it gives the government the right to have police officers who enforce the law. The only way for our nation to be tranquil is when our own people respect and obey the law. This means that it is important for us to obey the law. Our government must protect us on our soil from homegrown enemies.This also means that the government has the right to protect us on our soil from people that are not domestic. Terrorists are not domestics. Our government has the right – no, it has the obligation to protect us from all enemies that threaten the security and tranquility of American life. Does this include listening to phone conversations made from somewhere overseas to a place in the United States in order to determine if there is a threat? You betcha. Especially when that phone is placed from a nation that harbors those that have made it clear that they are bent on our destruction. Does this mean that terrorist and “enemy combatants” can be held and interrogated at will? You betcha. If we want to live in a society that is free from bombings and such in our city streets, then we must allow the government to do what we gave them power to do in the constitution. For goodness sakes, if we are going to call it a war, fight it like a war.
What does it mean to “promote the general Welfare’?
Again, I ask that the liberals who are reading to sit back down and stop shouting “A Ha”. Welfare in the preamble does not mean an entitlement system. It means to promote the general well-being our nation. Notice the word general. That is such an important word. It applies to all that are in our nation. So, are we learning about the need to take care of individuals here? I am afraid not. This means that government should act in terms of the majority. Case in point, homosexual marriage, is this good for the well-being of the majority of Americans? I think, we can all safely say no. It is not in the best interest or “general Welfare” of the country. The founding fathers had no idea that perversion would reach such heights in America.

It does mean, however, that the will of the people must be followed.

Too many people in our nation are getting their information and beliefs from the mainstream media. Both Hollywood and news agencies are responsible for the slide of our nation toward socialism. If there was one thing that I would like to impress on everyone in America, it would be stand on your own, make up your own mind. This is true in every facet of life. Make up your own mind about what is happening in the world and about religion. Take in as much information as you can, then form your own opinion. Do not take the word of someone else. Make sure that it is what you believe and then live by it. Don’t spend your life living someone else’s words and ideas. Both here and eternity matter greatly on the ability to see the truth and make up your own mind accordingly. Too many people live as if the just want to be spoon-fed what to think and believe. I do not want to go in that closet. I want to stand in the light. I want to see for myself. I want to believe for myself. I believe that the founding fathers gave us the tools to do that and do it right here in America.
