Run for the ages? No, run for the hills!

Ok, so who's going to win this one? We've got the historic mayor from the biggest economic city whom helped the nation through the worst terrorit act that its ever seen (though thats about all he's done), as well as the senator who's hubby played hide the cuban with an intern... ok, so I know Hillary's done wuite a bit more than that, and there are more candidates, but these are the two who seem to be getting the most press so far. Well you might think by my first sentence that I'm for Rudy, (no not the hobbit football player one). Well I'm not, I personally cringe whenever I even think about a republican in office for another 4 or more years right now. One thing I've never figured out is how Republicans manage to spend so much more during their time in office, yet help much ferwer people as they cut government benefit programs... can anyone help explain this to me? The government is supposed to help people take care of themselves, and then take care of the ones whom can't take care of themselves... this does not mean send every porr soul who wants a chance to improve themselves off to a war that was originally started over mysterious weapons that sure can cause alot of damage... if they ever existed. Though I guess you could argue that those weapons actually did cause some serious damage, only to the country that was supposedly hosting them. The only thing is that the weapons themselves didn't do the damage, instead it was the reaction to the weapons themselves. We've already seen this once before, with Nukes, real, modern, nukes have never been used in warfare, and their predecessor the atomic bomb has only been used once. Yet, the idea of nukes has caused more bloddshed than even the irresponsible testing ever did. Sometimes all people need is the idea of a potential catastrophe on their turf in order to justify an actual catstrophe on anothers... does that make sense???

A famous quote : "A person is smart. People are dumb panicky animals."
All you have to do is tell them they are in danger and that you know how to save them, and they will do anything you tell them to. In this case, we were stampeded into taking an actual low-risk pre-war situation and turning it into a real-life very dangerous one with no apparent realistic way to return it to a low-risk state.
